For a little pre-birthday celebration, Mitch wanted to take the kids out to Girdwood for the night. We had a great time! Funny thing was, we did almost just what we would have if we had stayed in town--dinner at Subway, explored the hotel, played with rocks, and played at a playground.

But somehow, the change of scenery made all the difference. Maybe not so much for the kids, but it was definitely a "recharge" kind of night for me. Sometimes I guess it just takes a 45 minute drive out of town to help refresh my perspective! Aren't I a lucky girl to have such a smart husband?

And if I thought one year made such a difference, what does that make three years?
